A Single Focus

Tax, Business and Da Kine was founded to fulfill a need that we ourselves have felt, balancing the sometimes conflicting needs of legal, tax and business issues in forming and developing a business.

We have found that these same skills are extremely useful in representing clients against bad businesses that have hurt them.

About the Founder

Mark Beatty has a wealth of experience and education that he is now applying to TBADK and his own business startup. His early career goals centered around something much more difficult than starting a business--starting a church in a foreign culture and learning Vietnamese in the process. Towards these goals Dr. Beatty earned a Bachelors of Arts from Biola University (1982) and a Masters of Linguistics from The University of Texas at Arlington (1990).

Mark took a brief vacation from these ministries to serve in the U.S. Army as a Russian Linguist and paratrooper. Highlights of this service included conducting operations from the pumping plant 10 km from Al Nasyria (a half hour helicopter ride from Baghdad) during Operation Desert Storm in 1990-1991.

Other skills he learned in the army include interrogation, intelligence analysis, and counter intelligence. All of these are extremely valuable in analyzing businesses for development or representing clients who have been harmed.

After leaving active duty in 1992, Mark returned to Texas to finish a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary (1993) and his course work for his Ph.D. in Humanities, also from The University of Texas at Arlington, which he finished in May 2001. In 1993 he moved to Hawaii to spend some time with a certain young lady whom Mark married on July 30, 1994. From 1994 to 1997, Mark worked at International College and Graduate School in Honolulu Hawaii, primarily as the College Dean.

Through his military service Dr. Beatty received a scholarship that he used to pursue a Ph.D. at The University of Hawaii at Manoa. Mark took various business and law classes as background to his main interests in linguistics. Through a strange series of events, this resulted in Mark receiving a Masters of Business Administration in August 2002 and the Doctorate of Jurisprudence in May 2003. He also passed his comprehensive exams on September 6, 2001 and dissertation project defense in January, 2006, thus finishing everything but the dissertation for second Ph.D. degree.

Dr. Beatty's main research interest through his MBA program was developing the concept and implementation of Everything Tailor. Founded in August 2003, this company has complete production capacity in Vietnam, a fully functioning e-commerce website, and (as of the time of writing) we are beginning an aggressive advertising campaign.  The skills developed in addressing the legal formation issues, tax considerations and multiple business challenges of Everything Tailor are the same skills that Dr. Beatty will be offering through TBADK as he consults his clients in business development. The skills he has learned through his general legal training, cross cultural and linguistic studies are the skills he will be offering to his Vietnamese clients.
